HARD CHOICES: Difficult yet Powerful Opportunities

Philosopher Ruth Chang brilliantly explains that hard choices are so difficult because there is really no option that is best, overall. Hard choices, she argues, shouldn’t be a source of agony but rather, an opportunity to make a stance on our individuality and how we want to live our lives. Don’t beat yourself over which alternative is better. No alternative is better! Do you get it? Instead of looking for reasons outside, look for reasons inside and decide what you are for. Choose to be this kind of person rather than that. Don’t be a drifter. Drifters allow the world to write the story of their lives. Instead, use hard choices to write the story of your life.
