Eat a Live Frog Every Morning and Develop a Habit of Success

Too busy? Not enough time? Well guess what? You are never going to catch up with your life! You have to be selective... and whatever you decide your "frog" to be (the hardest, most important task of your day), you gotta eat it first thing at work! According to Brian Tracy and his book EatThatFrog!, the ability to concentrate single-mindedly on your most important task, to do it well and to finish it completely is the key to success. So get in the habit of:

1) Setting clear priorities

2) Overcoming procrastination, and

3) Completing your hardest, most important task first thing in your workday. And if you have 2 frogs, eat the ugliest one first!

Habits can be hard to establish. But if you repeat a behavior enough times-- after some cue, and then receive a reward for it-- it will become automatic (when presented with that cue). The cool thing about the "Frog Habit", is that we are wired in a way that after completing a task, our brains secrete endorphins, which make us feel happy, self-confident, and energetic. Endorphins, give us a "natural high" and we can become positively addicted to them!

The idea of eating your ugliest frog first thing in the morning (after your run, shower, breakfast, whatever) is that it will leave you feeling incredibly powerful, confident and motivated for the rest of the day while all other tasks seem easy in comparison. As you repeat and practice this behavior, you will develop a habit of starting and completing ever more important and complex tasks (and a " positive addiction" to the "accomplishment high"). Build a habit of success, and get on the road to an ever more successful you!

So, today, what is your frog?
